The 2BCalm women’s mindfulness group
Plan a pause in your week—join the 2BCalm women’s mindfulness group to relax and reconnect to your inner silence, stillness and spaciousness. Practising meditation in a group is a wonderful and supportive way to deepen your experience of meditation.
What to expect
At the start of each class we sit for 5 to 10 minutes to allow ourselves to settle. You can choose to sit on a chair or a meditation cushion. We then have some teaching on mindfulness for around 20 minutes and then a longer sit of around 30 minutes.
Is this group for you?
We are all beginners in that each time we come to meditate we come afresh into the meditation with no expectations of outcome—always starting where we are in that moment.
If you have never meditated before, though, and you’d like an introduction to mindfulness:
- Read about mindfulness meditation
- Try this free guided meditation to get a feel for the practice
- Join a half-day introduction to mindfulness for busy women
- Book 1-to-1 mindfulness coaching with me.

What’s in your backpack?
A series of half-day mindfulness retreats for women
Within our backpacks are all the skills, experience and habits that we’ve built up over many years. Sometimes, we keep using the same strategies or maps to cope, to fix things and to make sense of what’s happening in our world. Mainly these strategies work—but perhaps the outcomes are not in tune with what we now want or desire.
In these half-day retreats, we’ll dive in deep and explore ways in which mindfulness, along with relevant techniques from other practices, can help us. The aim is to help you take stock and perhaps choose a different path in your approach or decision-making.
Are the backpack retreats for you?
The backpack series is for you if you have a good breadth of knowledge and understanding of mindfulness and the practice of meditation. This is a rolling programme, which you can join at any time. You can sign up to individual retreats or come to all of them.
If you’re new to mindfulness, here are two ways you can start learning:
- Join a half-day introduction to mindfulness for busy women, or
- Book 1-to-1 mindfulness coaching with me.
An overview of a backpack retreat
Where is your North Star?
In the northern hemisphere, humans have been using the North Star for direction for hundreds of years. We also used to have a deep sense of our direction from signs in nature. Now, we tend to rely on digital information to find our way—which is all very well if the signal is working!
But our sense of where we are—and of when to say yes, or no or maybe—also comes from within us. This even includes choices about which direction we go in—forwards, backwards, right or left. This inner sense is sometimes called our inner compass or intuition. But, as with modern digital information, if there is no signal—if we are travelling though periods that are demanding, challenging and even overwhelming—our inner sense of direction may feel more like a tunnel!
In this retreat, we explore ways in which using mindfulness and other techniques can help you restore and strengthen your connection to your inner compass, intuition, insight and wisdom.
